Has this happened to you?

It has been so warm and beautiful this week, you couldn't help but get outside to run.

This week, while trying to do just that. I ran into a 'little' bit of a problem. Living in the rural part of NJ where I do, there's a lot of wild life in the area. I've had deer in my front yard, groundhogs living in the woods behind my house, even a bear picking through the garbage in my garage.

But this week, while out on my run - got attached by a dog

500 miles....

No, I'm not referring to the Proclaimer's song "500 miles" - for those of you who ran under Coach Naegle for HHS XC team, there was a 500 mile or 300 mile club. This was the incentive program from June 1-August 31 to keep you training during the summer to get you ready for the fall season. If you completed this - you received a special "500 Mile Club" t-shirt and plaque at the end of the season.

As you've probably seen, Ultra-Marathoner Dean Karnazes has been running cross-country to raise awareness and support for childhood obesity and health. We thought that averaging 5.5+ miles a day throughout the 92 days of summer could be a tough task - especially once you started taking days off and got back-logged on the accumulated miles you now had to make up .

Dean Karnazes completed this same mileage, not in 92 days - but in 10.
