"Not as advertised..."

Although it is now spring there is still a lot of winter weather and cold. With that comes cooler temperatures and now lots of rain... Spring rain.

Over the last few weeks, it would not be uncommon to be hit during our morning run with winds of 20 mph or even freezing rain. So then what do you do for your morning workout when the weather is "not as advertised" -- or for the morning of that race you've been planning for weeks?

Given the drive that each of us possesses as runners, our initial response is to "gut through it" or "suck it up". But is that truly how we would act or the best way to act? Do we endanger ourselves further and put us at risk for colds by doing this? Some would say yes. Others would disagree whole-heartedly.

For me personally, it would depend on the length of the race and how intense my training has been in preparation. But I think this weekend might be the first test of the spring of what would you do when the weather is "not as advertised"?
